Bail Agent Pre-Licensing
Step 1:
Learn the core responsibilities, legal frameworks, and ethical practices required to operate successfully as a professional bail bonds agent. This 12-hour course (taught by Artis Bail Bonds) is completed over three days (4 hours per day) and is conducted through the Microsoft Teams app.
Cost $360
Step 2: Pay $50 to take State test
Step 3: Go to the Indiana Department of Insurance office (311 W Washington Street, Suite 103 Indianapolis, IN 46204) fill out application and pay $650 for Bail Agent license.

Recovery agent Licensing
Step 1:
Take course though Artis Bail Bonds to Develop the critical skills necessary for effective recovery operations, including investigative techniques, surveillance strategies, and legal compliance in fugitive recovery. This 12-hour course is completed over three days (4 hours per day) and is delivered through the Microsoft Teams app.
Cost $360
Step 2: Pay $50 to take state test.
Step 3: Go to the Indiana Department of Insurance office (311 W Washington Street, Suite 103 Indianapolis, IN 46204) fill out application and pay $300 Recovery Agent Licensing Fee.

Bail and Recovery Agent CE Class
The continuing education curriculum for Bail and Recovery Agents encompasses the provisions of the Indiana Administrative Code, including IC 27-10 and all applicable rules, with emphasis on the practical application of statutory requirements governing bail bond operations. It also includes relevant Indiana statutes, such as IC 35, ethical standards of professional conduct, applicable federal laws, and the integration of technological and procedural resources essential to bail and recovery practices. 6hr Class and is delivered through the Microsoft Teams app.
